In 1984, construction was completed on the ten-story, 240 room, 145,000 GSF Holiday Inn Civic Center in Waterloo, Iowa.

The hotel connects to the 140,000 GSF Waterloo Civic Center with a second- floor level pedestrian bridge, financed by a Federal UDAG Grant.  The hotel has a ten-story atrium, complete dining facilities and an enclosed swimming pool.

The Waterloo Civic Center has complete meeting, dining and convention facilities to serve the community including John Deer, the town’s largest employer, and other Waterloo businesses and civic organizations.  The Holiday Inn Civic Center and the Waterloo Civic Center are managed together by the developer/owner.

A 400 car City of Waterloo parking deck is also connected by a second story pedestrian bridge to the north.
